Pokhara-6, Gaurighat, Lakeside, Shivamandir Marga

Panchase Homestay

Transport to Damdame depends on the time of year, how much rain has fallen and how energetic you’re feeling.

In the dry season, you can take a bus directly to Damdame from Hallan Chowk in Lakeside, Pokhara. There is only one bus per day leaving at 3.30pm, but we suggest getting there at least an hour before if you want to secure a seat. The bus can be bumpy, hot, crowded and uncomfortable for tall people, so if you prefer, you can rent a jeep and a driver who will be able to take you to Damdame from any guesthouse or travel agent in Pokhara. If you feel like doing some trekking, you can take a taxi or any bus from Hallan Chowk to Ghatchhina throughout the day and make the 1-2 hour trek up the hill from Ghatchhina to Damdame

During the monsoon, you can take the same bus from Hallan Chowk or a jeep, as far as the river in Thulaket and then you will need to walk the rest of the way. It takes 2 – 3 hours to get to Damdame from the bus stop on foot, depending on the weather and how fast you walk.

While it is possible to get directly to Damdame at a time, we recommend to take minimum luggage as life in unpredictable in the Himalayas and you may end up hiking a part of the journey.
